Learning Leaders

A group of second or third year Business students who have been chosen as peer mentors to guide and support first year students.

The Learning Leader role is a peer mentoring role.

Students volunteer their time in a range of ways to support first year students in making a positive social and academic transition to student and academic life.

For example:

  • Learning Leaders might volunteer to be a mentor and point of contact for first year students
  • and/or they might serve in various support roles aimed at sharing successful learning and study strategies.

Some of these initiatives include presentations at the Business School undergraduate orientation, participating in the academic skills workshops and offering one-to-one assistance in the Learning Hub drop-in booth.

While Learning Leaders provide invaluable support for first year students, being part of this group also creates opportunities for personal and professional development.

If you are keen to join this group then look out for further information later in the semester as we will arrange a new intake for next year.
